EMERG is a co-operation between telecommunications regulators of the Mediterranean area.

Visitors can find basic information about EMERG and its members. Members have access to more detailed information and can use it to exchange ideas and best practises.

The Chair of EMERG 2015,  Ms María Fernández (Vice-President of the Spanish CNMC), will participate at the annual meeting of the Regulatory Associations, which will take place in Libreville (Gabon), on June 8, 2015, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Government of Gabon.

Ms María Fernández will present the EMERG Report on Market Trends and Benchmarking of Regulatory Activities 2014 (called “Benchmark Report”), prepared by the experts from several national regulatory authorities of EMERG. The EMERG Benchmark Report compares the regulatory environment and the market outcomes of the electronic communications sector in 20 countries: 12 EU Member States, and 8 South Mediterranean countries.

The Regulatory Associations Meeting (RAM) is part of the Pre-event programme of the 15th Global Symposium for Regulators (Libreville, 9-11 June). This event brings together Regulatory Associations from around the world to discuss key issues, best practices and share regulatory association information with peers. This year, discussions will include: how to create an enabling environment to enhance access to international fiber communications and the role of regional and international organizations in International Mobile Roaming.
